Frequently Asked Questions

How long are the walks?

All of our walks are a minimum of 90 minutes, not including pick up and drop off.

Where will my dog be walked?

We take them to a variety of places such as Cramond Beach, Cammo, River Almond, Braids, Newhailes, Portobello Beach and Arthur Seat. We also have our own woodland in Swanston and park in Kirkliston which are completely secure, the dogs love it! This variation ensures that no two days are the same and introduces them to a wide range of experiences and environments.

Do I need to be home when you pick up or drop off my dog?

No, the majority of our clients are happy for us to hold keys for them which enables us to collect and drop off your dog while you’re not at home. All keys are kept in a secure location and will never be marked with anything other than the name of your dog.

What happens in an emergency?

In an emergency we will contact you immediately to discuss the situation. If we are unable to contact you and urgent veterinary attention is required we will take your dog to your nominated veterinary practice or alternatively the nearest vet depending on the circumstances.

How are the dogs transported?

We have 6 vehicles to ensure short journey times to and from the walks. All our vans are secured with crates for your dogs and have vents, air con and heating for all weathers.

My dog has not been spayed/neutered, can they still be walked?

We ask that all male dogs over 1 year (or 18 months depending on the breed) are neutered. We are happy to walk female dogs that have not been spayed, providing they are not in season.

What times should I expect my dog to be picked up and dropped off?

For our morning walk the pick up times are between 8:30am-9:30am and the drop off times between 11:30am-12:30pm.

For our afternoon walk the pick up times are between 12:00pm-1:00pm and the drop off times between 2:30pm-3:30pm.

For our full day the pick up times are between 8:30am-9:30am and the drop off times between 2:30pm-3:30pm.

These times can vary slightly depending on what route your dog is on and the traffic on the day.

What times do you run your Woodland Daycare?

How young does my puppy need to be for Puppy Fridays?
